Women’s Gala-
Saturday, November 10th 12pm-2pm
Save the date for the Women’s Gala coming up on Saturday, November 10th. Please register for this event by signing up on the signup sheet in the back of the church or by contacting the church office by the end of October. This year’s theme is Re-Purposed-

Isaiah 61:3 “A crown of beauty for ashes the oil of gladness instead of mourning and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.”

Nonie Witherspoon will be speaking. Nonie Witherspoon, born in the Philippines, was raised in a very broken home and grew up as an agnostic until the day she received Jesus as her Lord and Savior on February 21, 1991. During her mid-teen years, she was blessed to live with her Pastor and their family, whom she now calls her Dad and Mom (Michael & Denise Vrooman). She has been married a little over 13 years and currently resides in Port Huron Michigan with her husband, Dave Witherspoon, whom she met at church in Olongapo City, Philippines where she grew up. Together they are raising their two young boys, David (6y/o) and Jonathan (4y/0). She is a stay at home wife, a homeschooler, and entrepreneur. She recently founded Mabuhay Global to employ local filipinos and help break the cycle of poverty in that country.
Nonie is an advocate for providing spiritual guidance for the women in the jail, and was a clergy inside the St. Clair County Federal Prison for 11 and half years. She is a mentor and counselor for women of all ages, leads bible studies, and speaks at women’s conferences
Her desire is to see God move in two main things: 1) For women to see their worth and Identity in Christ. To help them grow in their faith and win their families for Christ . 2) to help break the cycle of poverty around the Globe, one country at a time. . She strongly believes in this quote “Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man how to fish and he will eat for the rest of his life.” … In God all things are possible.

If you are interested in volunteering to help put together centerpieces and decorate for the gala on the Thursday or Friday before please see Char Tuttle.
